Bridging the Gap for Individuals with Special Needs in Central PA

Sarah Lynn Strohman Foundation

"You see, Sarah was a very, very special lady.  Although she was a small child and then a small adult, she had the heart of the moon.  When Sarah would give you a hug or showed you her love, it was always genuine and you knew it.  She had to go through so much in her short time with us and I always felt like I was holding her hand the whole time.  Now I realize it was her holding mine and she was guiding me through life with her.  I was and still am very, very proud to be known as her Papa.  She taught me so much about life, feelings and how to be extremely patient.  She also exposed me to the special need kids and adults, they too taught me as well.  I know I am a better person because of the time I spent with her and her friends.  That is one reason why I am part of the foundation.  The other is to keep her memory alive and to share her love of life with others."

HOW SARAH INSPIRED

Francine Strohman leads the board in determining the focus and direction the foundation will take.  Francine is no stranger to the special needs area, having raised her daughter, Sarah, who was autistic and had mental, physical and behavioral challenges. She hopes to help the foundation grow into an organization that Sarah would be proud of. Outside of the foundation, Francine works full time with Global Data Consultants as an IT Consultant.
